The constellation telling how Scerenciya, The Sparkling Jewel and her Star Fox became one.

Appearance

A sneaking nine-tailed fox running through the sky.

Story

The fox was a simple creature, one of cunning and cleverness. A trickster, but in all good means. During the Divine Convergence a particularly curious fox got a bit ahead of itself and found its way to God’s Realm. Gleefully the fox stole. The fox ate. The fox did as it so pleased! Though as it wandered the divine domain it found a sparkling jewel — one like no other, that glimmered with the beauty of the stars. The fox took it. The fox protected it. The fox cherished it. Eventually it would be so enamoured by it that it wore it as a necklace.

The gods were furious when they found their prized gem gone. Heaven and Hell were turned upside down. Unbeknownst to the fox, each calamity the gods brought to the world it grew another tail. With each tail it grew more cunning, more lithe, more tricky. Finally the gods found the cunning little fox with nine tails, from nine calamities across nine years of turmoil on the mortal plane. The gods sought to capture the fox, but scared, it ate the jewel! One god wanted to kill it. One god wanted to experiment on it. One god wanted to banish it for all eternity.

The fox trembled but was saved. The Star Goddess — the one who was to be gifted the jewel — adored the little fox. She forgave it, for it knew not the tribulations of the gods. The fox fell in love with the goddess and gave itself to her. The other gods would not have it, and they eventually hunted down the fox to retrieve the gem, but the gem was not found in the fox — for they were one and the same. Distraught and broken, the Star Goddess took the dead fox in her arms and tossed it to the night sky, where it would endlessly run through the stars. Where it would be a calamity. Where it would be a blessing. Where it would strike curiosity. Where the Fox would be forever.

Meaning

The Fox’s meaning varies greatly depending on the number of tails visible and their positions. These readings can vary from extremely good to extremely bad, owing to the tricksy nature of a fox.
