Golden sand runs for miles beneath a canopy gone wild with flowering vines — and past the surf, the horizon is always crowded with sails.

Overview
Xanthakte (“Golden Shore”) is the southern-most of the Amazonian regions — a stretch of golden beaches backed by a floral jungle where the Akadas’ green gives way to flowering canopy. It is Moltara’s busiest coastline, and one of the country’s central trade hubs: the main connecting point between the landlocked interior and the wider sea trade, where merchant captains make their choice of Amazonian or Valkyrian ports before continuing on.
Environment
The jungle here is louder and brighter than the interior — vines heavy with flowers crowd the treeline right down to the sand, and the beaches themselves are wide, warm, and mostly gentle. It’s the friendliest-looking stretch of coastline in Moltara, which suits its role as the region everyone passes through.
Dangers & Phenomena
- Environmental Hazards: Just north, where the floral jungle abruptly stops, lies the Scar of the World — the boundary between Xanthakte’s gentler coast and the wilder Akadas interior.
- Mystical Effects / Weather: Hundreds of miles south, out in the open gulf, sailors report strange currents that shoot straight upward from the depths — strong enough, some claim, to have raised a scattering of small floating islands that now sit permanently over the open water. Unnamed and largely unexplained; see .
Notable Areas
- Scar of the World
- — the region’s chief port and seat of the Protothera (not yet named)
- — the unnamed gulf current/floating-island phenomenon to the south
