The Valkyries are a religious sort and through their warier ways they must honor the dead. These ancient burials are no longer in practice in the current era however the practices from then have transferred to ancient rituals performed by priests of Sorali’Korr
The first daughter of the deceased is to prepare a small canoe called an Auravan Lamahch, Hearthlight Ferry/Soul Light Vessel. The Honorized or anyone of esteemed status, as well as their consorts and court, they would have a marble Auravan set with their possessions. The non-honorized, common folk, would simply have a wooden Auravan. Their bodies are to be entombed and preserved for eternity. The Auravan is then layered with material, and oils to then be set ablaze from a flaming arrow to signify the coming of the next generation. For those who a buried to young to teach the young of their death, a close friend or family may undertake the task to bury the deceased with honor. The child will then need to later go on a spiritual journey to reclaim their rightfully place as the next in line. The Auravan will burn from dusk till dawn and its final resting spot will be the Lamadhr Valokh, Harbor of the Silent Flame, in a tomb and the small vessel(s) will be immortalized on an island. These tombs often have thousands of bodies.
Lamadhr Valokh
Harbor of the Silent Flame: The harbor is the main entrance to the tomb. Often made out of Quartz and Marble it is a single dock area open to the sky below. These are the reception areas to the Auravan Lamahchs.
These harbors are often decorated with the instrument of choice by the priestess of the time. There are also several other instrument statues constructed about in such a way that when the wind blows in they harmonize with eachother.
Vingard Gate Seal
A sealed door with three concentric rings. The outer ring has 9 different symbols around it. The middle ring has 7 and the inner most has 5. The rings can move with the middle moving opposite the other two.
- One of the three instrument’s in the Lamadhr is engraved with the correct symbols to unlock the gate seal.
- The Lamadhr is decorated with the instrument to look for that has the correct pattern.
- The Gate Seal if its attempted to open will unleash a burst of damage to anyone in front of it (or more importantly behind it)
