One of the three constellations of the Legend of Lovyn, alongside The Archer and The Dragon. Sacred to starseers who read Scerenciya, The Sparkling Jewel’s night sky.
Appearance
A chalice with a single centered, particularly bright star.
Story
The Chalice comes from the Legend of Lovyn the Archer, who went to retrieve the Chalice of Sarencina from the Great Dragon. It was said that the Chalice possessed great healing properties, and that when the Archer needed the most aid, the Chalice rejuvenated him and repelled the Dragon, allowing him to escape. Legends have it that the Chalice joined the stars with Lovyn after his death, but there is a chance that a physical form of the Chalice of Sarencina is hidden somewhere in the world.
Meaning
When all three constellations of the Legend of Lovyn are clearly visible in the sky and completely uncovered by clouds, it means that a great quest of heroism is currently underway or near completion. These three constellations together are typically seen as a great blessing, not just for the subject of the reading but for everyone — though it is extremely rare that during a reading one or more are not missing.
Alternate Meanings
- The Chalice and The Archer: a blessing of some sort will come for the subject of the reading, normally right when they need it most.
- The Chalice and The Dragon: looks more into a Dragon’s intelligence — Dragons, despite typically carrying omens, can also be seen as symbols of wisdom and personal transformation. This combination typically means a large amount of personal growth is imminent.
- The Chalice alone: a symbol for spirituality and rebirth. Typically in a reading it also signifies personal growth, though to a lesser scale than when combined with the Dragon.
Firbolg Masks
Due to the Starseer Firbolgs making masks of animals, the Chalice is often likened to a butterfly.
