One of the three constellations of the Legend of Lovyn, alongside The Archer and The Chalice. Sacred to starseers who read Scerenciya, The Sparkling Jewel’s night sky.

Appearance

A dragon with extended wings, pointing in the direction of the Archer, but in a far corner of the sky.

Story

The Dragon comes from the Legend of Lovyn the Archer, who was sent to retrieve the Chalice of Sarencina from the Great Dragon. The dragon took the chalice for his hoard, and when he was least prepared the archer came and snatched it. He almost managed to kill Lovyn, but the chalice suddenly erupted into light, blinding the dragon and allowing for his escape. Most do not know how the dragon managed to make his way into the sky, but some believe that after the archer’s death, he took the chalice back and died with it centuries later, still in his clutches.

Meaning

When all three constellations of the Legend of Lovyn are clearly visible in the sky and completely uncovered by clouds, it means that a great quest of heroism is currently underway or near completion. These three constellations together are typically seen as a great blessing, not just for the subject of the reading but for everyone — though it is extremely rare that during a reading one or more are not missing.

Alternate Meanings

  • The Dragon and The Archer: the subject needs to take some caution — some great force is coming to them, but one that can be overcome.
  • The Dragon and The Chalice: looks more into a Dragon’s intelligence — this combination typically means a large amount of personal growth is imminent.
  • The Dragon alone: very rare, and one of the worst omens that can be read. Typically a symbol for incoming catastrophic danger on a large scale — a bigger threat than The Panther, but not as imminent.
